Pacific mackerel
Pacific mackerel (Scomber japonicus) is distributed in the Northwest Pacific region, including the seas off the Russian Far East, Japan, the Korean Peninsula, and China. It belongs to the genus Scomber and has dark blue markings on its back, with 9 to 10 spines in the first dorsal fin. The first and second dorsal fins are relatively far apart, and there are also irregular markings on its back.

Atlantic mackerel
Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus) is a species of mackerel found along the Atlantic coasts of North America and Europe, and is one of the most important small pelagic economic fish species. The Atlantic mackerel has a steel-blue back with black wavy lines perpendicular to the length of the fish. The rest of its body is silvery-white to yellow, and may have dark spots.

Blue mackerel
Blue mackerel (Scomber australasicus) is mainly distributed in the tropical to subtropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Its body is spindle-shaped, with a nearly circular cross-section. The back is bluish-green, the dorsal side is bluish-black, and there is a row of distinct spots along the midline of the body. The abdomen has scattered light gray irregular markings, and the lower abdomen is silvery-white, hence the name "blue mackerel."
