Frozen Farreri Scallops

 

Chlamys Chlamys is a genus of shellfish belonging to the family Chlamys of the pearl shellfish order. The shell is fan-shaped, the two shells are low and flat, and the shell height is slightly larger than the shell length; Dorsal margin straight, ventral margin round; The shell center, the front and rear of the shell top have shell ears, and the front ears are large; There is byssus pore under the right anterior ear; The size of the two shells is nearly equal, but the right shell is flatter and the left shell is convex. There are spines associated with the ribs, and the shell color is varied, generally light brown; The inner surface of the shell is light in color, mostly pink, and has the same side stripe as the shell surface; The hinge is straight, toothless, and the internal ligaments are located in the ligamentous groove of the three fish. [9] Because its shell bright thin and hard, there are a number of radial ribs, the appearance resembles a sunflower fan, and the right shell front ear has a depression on the abdomen, called chlamys lameri, so the name.

Scallops contain a kind of serum cholesterol lowering effect of Daltae 7-cholesterol and 24-methylene cholesterol, which have the unique effect of inhibiting cholesterol synthesis in the liver and accelerating the excretion of cholesterol, thereby reducing cholesterol in the body. They are more potent than the commonly used cholesterol-lowering drug glusterol. After eating shellfish, people often have a refreshing and pleasant feeling, which is undoubtedly beneficial to relieve some troublesome symptoms.

Small individuals with shell length less than 150(40~220) mm lived in the low tide area, while large individuals with shell length less than 250(185~350)mm were distributed in the subtidal zone. Sediment, medium sand and coarse sand or soft mud sediment, less floating mud, sand accounted for 60% to 80%, smooth water flow, small wind waves, calm water surface of the inner bay area is more distributed. The larvae live in semi-buried attachment, and when they sink and attach, they generally do not move for life. The tip of the shell is often inserted vertically into the sand, while the byssus is fixed on the sand grain, and the rear part of the broad surface is exposed. Through the observation of 12 habitats in three places, it was found that the clustering rate of crustaceans, polychaetes, echinoderms and seaweed was more than 85%. They also live in groups with coelenterates, brachiopods, bean crabs (Pinnotheres sp.), and Gastrochaena grandis.
