China Customs Squid Export Data

In 2024, China exported a total of 541,600 tons of squid (including raw, processed, and salted products), compared to 495,900 tons in 2023-an increase of 45,700 tons, up 9.22%.

Among these exports, 36,300 tons were shipped to the U.S., accounting for 6.7% of China's total squid exports. This included 30,000 tons of raw squid and 6,360 tons of processed squid.

This data clearly shows that the impact of the U.S.-China tariff war on China's squid exports has been limited.

Argentina Customs Squid Export Data

Turning to Argentina's squid exports, the country shipped 42,100 tons of raw squid in January-February this year, up 7,600 tons (22%) compared to the same period in 2023 (34,500 tons).

In terms of export destinations, China emerged as the leading market for Argentine squid. In January-February this year, Argentina exported 27,900 tons of squid to China, making up 66.27% of its total squid exports. This figure is three times higher than the 8,196 tons exported in the same period in 2023-an increase of 19,703 tons, representing a staggering 240.4% surge.
