At the 2025 Deep Sea Aquaculture High Quality Development Conference, Yantai Jinghai Fisheries announced that its deep sea cage rainbow trout aquaculture has become the first seawater rainbow trout project in China to pass BAP international certification, marking the official alignment of China's high-end aquaculture with international standards. Yantai City has simultaneously launched the "Salmon Ten Thousand Tons Plan", which aims to solve the problem of high-temperature aquaculture in summer by constructing semi submersible intelligent net cages, and relying on intelligent system systems to digitize the entire process of feeding and monitoring, promoting the expansion of aquaculture water bodies from 1.2 million cubic meters to 2 million cubic meters. At the same time, Weihai Innovation has launched the country's first sea cucumber aquaculture sea surface temperature index insurance, which triggers compensation when the monitored water temperature exceeds the threshold, building a risk firewall for farmers.
Yantai has achieved a leap from freshwater seedling cultivation to marine animal husbandry for rainbow trout through the "land sea relay" model, and developed feed transport ships to reduce operating costs by 30%. Weihai has formed a complete industry chain from traditional light dried to ready to eat products, and companies such as Haojia have showcased their deep processing results through exhibitions, forming an industrial synergy of "front-end production back-end value-added" with Yantai's deep-sea aquaculture. The "equipment research and development+seedling cultivation+financial security" system jointly constructed by the two places has created a replicable modern fishery paradigm for the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea region.
