THE SPRING FESTIVAL

The Spring Festival is the Chinese traditional New Year calculated by the lunar calendar, also known as the Spring Festival, Zhengdan, the first month Shuoji, its celebrations are also commonly known as the New Year, the year, etc., is one of the four traditional festivals of the Han nationality. Since the Ming Dynasty, the Chinese New Year festival generally does not officially end until the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, and some places even celebrate the New Year until the end of the entire first month. After the Revolution of 1911, the official calendar was changed from the lunar calendar to the Gregorian calendar. The Chinese New Year falls on the same day as the Korean New Year, the Vietnamese New Year, the Ryukyu New Year, and the Japanese New Year before the Meiji Restoration, while the Tibetan New Year and the Mongolian New Year fall on the same day or within a day or a month.
Influenced by the cultural circle of Chinese characters, the Spring Festival is also an important festival in Southeast Asia where there are many Chinese communities such as Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Chinese New Year Parade in Manhattan, New York, is the largest Chinese New Year event outside of Asia. Spring Festival is also a United Nations holiday
The holiday is from February, 10 to 17, a total of 8 days.
