Frozen Scallop

Scallops grow at a slower rate, and the shells are larger, up to 10 cm. The left shell is slightly flat, slightly smaller than the right shell, often purple-black. The right shell is more prominent, yellowish white. The front and rear ears are equally sized. There are 15 to 20 radiating ribs on the shell surface. Generally, the left shell is submerged on the seabed, and there are no spines on the ribs.

This species is found around the far eastern Asian coast, from China, Korea, Japan and Sakhalin, and possibly as far north as the Kamchatka Peninsula and the Aleutian Islands. It is aqua farming in China, South Korea, Japan, and Russia.

Application

Scallops are a low fat seafood choice that is a good source of protein and some minerals and vitamins. Hokkaido scallops are famous for their delicious flavor as sashimi.

Scallops are rich and sweet in flavor, low oiliness and moist with firm flesh texture.
