I recently ate a super-sized shrimp called the black tiger shrimp. Its size is simply astonishing; the longest female shrimp can grow to 33 centimeters and weigh over 500 grams, truly making it the king of shrimp.
Basic Characteristics of Black Tiger Shrimp
Black tiger shrimp, also known as tiger prawn, ghost shrimp, or flower shrimp, is named for its large size and striped shell. Its body is glossy, brownish-red, with rust-colored markings on its back, giving it a very elegant appearance. The black tiger shrimp is known as the "King of Shrimp," a title it earned for a reason. It has a very wide distribution, ranging from southern Japan to the coast of East Africa. In my country, black tiger shrimp are mainly distributed in the southern coastal areas, especially Guangdong and Hainan. They prefer clean, deep-sea environments and have very strict requirements for their growth conditions.

Black Tiger Shrimp Habits
Black tiger shrimp are a type of marine shrimp, highly adaptable and fast-growing. They are not demanding in terms of food and protein, and can tolerate a wide range of salinity and temperature. Their salinity range is between 0.2 and 70, with an optimal salinity of 10 to 20; their temperature range is between 25 and 32°C, and they are prone to death above 38°C or below 14°C. Black tiger shrimp are valued primarily for their large size, with the largest females reaching 33 cm in length and weighing over 500 grams. They prefer clean, deep-sea environments, which is one of the reasons they stand out among various shrimp species.

Nutritional Value of Black Tiger Shrimp
Black tiger shrimp are not only large, but also highly nutritious. They are rich in protein, calcium, vitamin E, vitamin B2, magnesium, and unsaturated fatty acids. In particular, their astaxanthin content is 20% higher than other shrimp, making them a truly high-protein, low-fat health food. Eating black tiger shrimp can boost the immune system and promote wound healing, making them ideal for those recovering from illness or those who are weak. Their meat is delicious and has a springy texture, making them incredibly addictive.

Eating black tiger prawns is not just a treat for the taste buds, but also a nourishing experience for the body. They are rich in antioxidants that can reduce cell damage, slow aging, and fight chronic diseases. Black tiger prawns are also beneficial for cardiovascular health, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, and preventing the risk of heart disease and stroke. Truly a healthy and delicious choice.
