The Unique Charm of Peruvian Squid

It is a pelagic squid species mainly distributed in the Indian Ocean. It is a squid species that has been commercially developed and processed in my country in recent years, serving as an important supplement to the raw materials for processing Peruvian squid domestically. This species is of relatively lower quality, with larger individuals, higher moisture content, and meat quality inferior to Peruvian squid. Its market price is typically 60%-70% of that of Peruvian squid. It is processed and utilized in places like Dongshan, Fujian, and Weihai, Shandong, developing a complete "one squid" industrial chain covering barbecue, catering, snack foods, and feed additives. Products include squid tentacles skewers, squid meat skewers, crispy octopus tentacles, and ready-to-eat baby squid. Its price fluctuates due to multiple factors, including marine yield, fishing moratorium policies, international oil prices, labor costs, and market supply and demand.

Indian Ocean squid are distributed in the Indian Ocean. Commercial fishing activities are mainly concentrated in the high seas area of the Indian Ocean where Chinese deep-sea fishing vessels operate, primarily by Chinese deep-sea light-net fishing vessels and squid fishing boats. Indian Ocean squid is an important supplement to the raw materials for processing Peruvian squid in my country, and its quantity is constantly increasing. A complete industrial chain encompassing primary, deep, and refined processing has been established. Through processes such as raw material segmentation, squid head processing, steaming, skewering, packaging, and quick-freezing, squid products are processed into squid flowers, squid skewers, fish balls, dried products, and other squid products.
