The 2025 Marine summer fishing moratorium system will be implemented simultaneously in the four major sea areas starting from May, providing a valuable breeding period for Marine biological resources. Among them, the South China Sea, as an important fishing ground in our country, will officially end its fishing moratorium on August 16th after three and a half months of rest and recuperation. This ecological protection measure, which has been in place for many years, not only ensures the sustainable utilization of fishery resources but also creates conditions for coastal fishermen to adjust their production rhythms.

In traditional fishing ports such as Wenchang in Hainan and Yangjiang in Guangdong, fishermen are stepping up efforts to inspect their fishing boats and tidy up their fishing gear, making the final preparations for the first voyage after the fishing season begins. The local fishery department organized and carried out safety training, and the maritime authorities strengthened channel inspections to ensure the safety and orderliness of fishing operations. The fishing port wharf was once again piled up with fish boxes and ice packs. The long-awaited roar of diesel engines heralded the upcoming harvest season.

The end of the fishing moratorium does not mean a relaxation of supervision. Fishery departments at all levels will continue to maintain fishing order through means such as sea patrols and port inspections. This year, the concept of "ecological fishing" is particularly emphasized to guide fishermen to reasonably control the intensity of fishing. With the first batch of fishing boats about to set sail, this system that takes into account both ecology and people's livelihood is writing a new chapter.
