China's large fishing port opening

China's fishing ban policy
Since 1995, China has implemented a summer fishing ban system in the East China Sea, Yellow Sea and other sea areas, with a ban period usually lasting 3-4 months (depending on the sea area and operation method). For example, the fishing ban period in Fujian is generally from May 1st to August 16th, during which trawling, purse seining, and other operations are prohibited.
Implementing a fishing ban is an important measure to protect marine fishery resources and achieve sustainable development. This approach protects fishery resources, prevents overfishing, and maintains the ecological balance of the ocean.
The fishing ban ends and the fishing season begins
With the sound of ship whistle, tens of thousands of fishing boats along the coast of Fujian Province set sail simultaneously, marking the official end of the three-and-a-half-month fishing ban in the East China Sea during the summer season. Major fishing ports such as Quanzhou and Xiamen present a spectacular scene of thousands of sails competing. Fishermen eagerly head to traditional operating areas, and more than a thousand fishing boats leave the port in an orderly manner after completing fishing gear inspections and material supplies.
