On August 16th, the 2025 Marine summer fishing moratorium in Fujian Province officially came to an end. A total of over 8,000 fishing vessels set sail in an orderly manner across the province. According to the data from the provincial ocean and fishery bureau, the proportion of modern fishing vessels equipped with Beidou navigation and automatic identification systems in this batch of operation vessels is higher than in previous years. This modern fishing system can effectively enhance efficiency and safety. On the first day of fishing season, the fishery administration and the coast guard jointly carried out maritime patrols, focusing on verifying safety equipment and fishing qualifications. At present, the average daily catch of returning fishing vessels and the output of economic fish species such as hairtail and pomfret have tended to be stable compared with previous years. Due to the influence of the outer area of Typhoon Podul, the maximum wind force in Fujian can reach level 9. The fishery department has sent real-time meteorological updates through the satellite early warning platform and activated the emergency response plan, urging operation vessels to take shelter from the wind in time and fully ensuring the safety of maritime production. In 2024, Fujian Province achieved a Marine GDP of 1.25 trillion yuan, accounting for over 21% of the province's total GDP. This year is expected to surpass last year and set a new record.
