According to the statistics of the Russian Federal Fisheries Service (Rosrybolovstvo), the total export of Russian seafood to China from January to October 2022 reached 430,000 tons, an increase of 51% compared with the same period last year, and the cumulative export exceeded 1.2 billion US dollars, an increase of 40% compared with the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Russia imported 39,400 tons of seafood from China in the first 10 months of this year, worth about 221 million dollars.

Trade in goods between Russia and China totaled about $153.9 billion in the first 10 months of the year, up 33 percent year on year, as much of Europe and North America shunned Russian products.

Rosrybolovstvo said that Russia's ability to export to foreign markets is crucial for the development of the seafood industry, which currently prioritised supplying the Russian domestic market.
