Norway is the main supplier of frozen mackerel imported to South Korea, accounting for 96%, or 11,610 tons, China accounts for 4%, or 449 tons, and the Netherlands accounts for less than 1%, or 23 tons.

The average import price of Norwegian mackerel is US$2.74 per kilogram, and the average import price of Chinese mackerel is US$1.98 per kilogram.
South Korea's frozen mackerel imports in January were US$32.67 million, an increase of 53% year-on-year from US$21.3 million in the same period in 2024, and the average import price increased by 23%, from US$2.2 to US$2.7.
Summary: South Korea's frozen mackerel imports have been increasing in January, and the import volume from Norway is relatively large, but the price is relatively high. All things considered, prices in China are lower than those in Norway, so you can import more from China.
