According to official data from the Argentine National Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, a total of 27616 tons of Illex Argentinus were caught between January 1 and February 4, 2025. Among them:
Fishing boat captures 24597 tons
Frozen trawl fishing boat captures 2600 tons
Fresh fish boat captures 419 tons
At the same time, the National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP) released the "Official Technical Report No. 01 of 2025", analyzing the fishing situation of Illex argentinus squid fishery in Argentine waters during the third week of the 2025 fishing season (January 2-20).
The report is based on weekly data from 52 fishing boats (equivalent to 377 operating days), showing a total catch of 12182 tons during this period.
Fleet Distribution and Operating Areas
January 2-7: 18 fishing boats explored the waters between 49 ° and 52 ° south latitude, and the catch was concentrated in the 4966 rectangular area

Confirm two major populations through onboard observer data:

Fishing efficiency
