How to identify seafood quality

When you buy seafood, how do you choose the fish? of course, depends on the freshness. But it would be a mistake to assume that fresh seafood is fresh at the sight of shiny, plump seafood, which may have been foamed in formalin.
Although the seafood soaked in Formalin is hard to distinguish by the naked eye, but there are still traces to follow. After the squid soaked in formaldehyde solution, the color is brighter and the surface mucus is reduced. After the seafood was soaked in formaldehyde solution, the folds were clearly visible, the mucus attached to the body was reduced, and the soup was not cloudy. If other fish are kept fresh with formaldehyde, the surface of the fish body looks cleaner, but the fish eyes are cloudy and the eye membrane is fuzzy.
Fresh and normal seafood smells fishy, but seafood marinated in formalin can still have a slight pungent smell even after washing. If consumers take a closer look, they will find the same medicinal smell that they can smell in hospitals.
Asking is comparing prices. Seafood marinated in Formalin is generally cheaper than seafood cooked in water. So consumers do not blindly covet cheap, encounter cheap seafood to leave a mind.
To cut is to pinch. Seafood marinated in formalin will be firm to pinch. When you press down on the fish, you don't feel the elasticity of seafood. Squid, oysters will become smooth and non-sticky surface, shrimp will become hard and brittle, easily broken.
